I tried Webware a while ago (~pyBlosxom .5)- Webware has a request object that you can map to the blosxom object.  I worked ok, but I had some problems w/ plugins and mod level variables.  

There are init and sleep methods that you can use to set up and tear down pyblosxom objects.
