Uhh...  $base_url should point to your pyblosxom.cgi script.  Given that
this is typically in a cgi-bin directory and not in a document directory,
I think this isn't what you want to do.

Why don't you just add a thing to your config.py like this:

   py["my_base_url"] = "your_base_url_here_for_local_links"

And then use $my_base_url in your links.

Does that sound like it fixes your problem?
