Wasn't there a plugin which would let you run bits of code in your 
variables?  So, something like '<a href="${urlescape(py['filename'])}">' 
would do the right thing.  Am I imagining things again?  Maybe I'm 
thinking of the Cheetah templating system...

To give credit where credit is due, I think I just modified something I 
got from Ted.  Or maybe from Rune...  I do know that even though I had 
the gaul to plaster my name all over it, I didn't write most of the 
code.  It looks way too complicated for my tiny brain to come up with.

Keeping this in mind, do you really want to register my plugin?
Perhaps as a stopgap measure until someone takes up the torch of writing 
the renderers, I suppose.
