Yes well in the indian tradition if you get lots of karma you'll be
reincarnated as something nice

As you say it's subjective.  We have to eat something to live.  I once
heard it said that vegetarians are just things that cant run away from
them :)

It's up to you how you use it ... it's mainly for testing the system
at the moment as a proof of concept.

You can quite easily make a currency for space elevator rides or
anything else and swapping between ... I think of karma a a 'good
deed' or a 'small favour' ..
