- This is a full time hourly paid role - Rate: $60 to $80 per hour - Duration: 1 year with poss. of extension - The hired researcher will work on-site in Newark, NJ (5-minute walk to PATH train) - Citizenship: Required. Green Card Ok Job Description: Seeking a resourceful User Researcher who is passionate about shaping the success of user experiences for our global customer base. You will have the unique opportunity to impact product design initiatives, with a direct and visible impact on business. You will be working with a talented team of designers, product managers and development teams with a common goal of providing unique and innovate ways for customers to interact with curated content. This position requires the ability to work with minimal direction as well as skills to deal with ambiguity. Responsibilities: * Distill research questions into well thought-out research plans and aligning them with product roadmap. * Identify best research methods based on research goals, timeline and resourcing. * Develop and implement user-centered research throughout the design and development cycle using a variety of methodologies including: usability studies, contextual inquiry, task analysis, heuristic evaluation, benchmarking, surveys, scenarios, personas and other appropriate qualitative and quantitative research techniques. * Define, track and report key user experience metrics. * Perform quick but thorough data analysis in order to create actionable findings. * Deliver high quality user research solutions in an environment with frequently shifting priorities and new market opportunities. * Be a strong and vocal user advocate. * Travel outside of USA to conduct user research and usability studies. Basic Qualifications: * Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization. * Minimum of 3 years professional experience in User Research, working successfully with project teams to drive results into design and development throughout the project lifecycle. * A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (including study plans, reports). * End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting). * Hands-on experience with the following methods: lab-based user testing, remote testing, field research, and survey design. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in mobile or device-specific user research. * Experience in instructional design. * Masters or PhD degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or related field.
