Hello,

I've got an I18N issue under Linux (Red Hat 3.0 AS) with SiteMesh 1.5, Tomcat 4.1.30, JDK 1.4.2_04-b05.

I retrieve some data in an Oracle database with Cp1252 character set.
Sitemesh works fine with special characters under Windows (my default character set is Cp1252)

Under Solaris the special characters are not correctly displayed.
As a workaround I've used with success the -Dfile.encoding=Cp1252 property.

Under Linux (default character set is en_US.UTF-8), the special characters are not correctly displayed.
Setting the file.encoding property does not work.
It appears (Java Bug Id 4163515) that the file.encoding property is intended to be "read-only".
So I've set my LANG variable to LANG=Cp1252 without success.

I've also try to use the procedure describe in http://opensymphony.com/sitemesh/charsets.html without success.

I've got the same issue when setting all the properties to ISO-8859-1

Any idea ?

Thanks,

Stéphane Baudet
