There should be what error it actually was (effectively strerror(errno)). I don't know if it didn't print anything or if it died during the cut-n-paste. The only vaid error return is EPERM: permission denied. Dumb question: you are starting it as root, right? If you are, then I would tend to think it would have to be a Python or Fedora bug.
