idea why it spent so much time unanswered or if it got
resolved/obsoleted by now.

Anyway, for me the -tidy switch is sufficient, I guess you found it by
now?

tils@tp:~/tclwebtest$ ./tclwebtest
Usage: tclwebtest [OPTIONS] [FILE|DIRECTORY]...
[...]
-tidy              Toggle html check with tidy. Default off
