Re: Academic/commercial collaboration (emergency URL repair)

Thanks for trying William. Those of you advising the government/public
sector on usability might care to bring the idea of keeping URLs to less
than 72 characters in length if the information is aimed at the less
technoliterate, and the URL might be forwarded by email or to a list as
this one is.

I know if I was to send, say, my mum a link of something that might be
relevant to her, on, say, pensions or health service, she would handle the
link-clicking easily, but the idea of having to reconstitute a URL would
be a non-starter. (sorry mum!!)

Short cryptic folder and filenames have a lot going for them!
