[MACCAWS] browsers? No, user agents.

In the abstract for the W3Cs WCAG (Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines) you read this:

"The primary goal of these guidelines is to promote accessibility.
However, following them will also make Web content more available to
all users, whatever user agent they are using (e.g., desktop browser,
voice browser, mobile phone, automobile-based personal computer,
etc.) or constraints they may be operating under (e.g., noisy
surroundings, under- or over-illuminated rooms, in a hands-free
environment, etc.)."

I like the fact that they don't restrict the conversation to
*browsers*, and we tend to always talk in terms of browsers. Not only
is this good for accessibility, but it looks toward more innovative
technologies like PDAs, WAP phones and the like. I think that if we
talk in terms of *user agents* and not *browsers*, the message might
resonate a little better and might separate a bit from the white
noise that is the "browser wars."
