Deployment of WO 5.2.4 Apps on WO 5.3.1 Server and vice versa ?

Hello,

Having a WebObjects 5.2.4 application, can we host it on a Mac OS X  
Server 10.4 upgraded with WebObjects 5.3.1 (it is the reverse of a  
question posted by another member) ?

We have currently configured a PowerMac G4 with a limited time  
version of Mac OS X Server 10.4 fully upgraded to WebObjects 5.3.1...  
We have put a copy of all our applications still build with XCode 2.0  
(so with WebObjects 5.2.4) and ask our users to use this test version  
instead of the a priori good ones also on a Mac OS X Server 10.4 but  
not upgraded to WebObjects 5.3.x... I am of course afraid of letting  
our true server upgrade itself to WebObjects 5.3.1 as I have no way  
of going back other than fully reinstall the server !

After 24 hours, it seems there is no problem... But of course, they  
just use them one day: they didn't test everything...

Does someone have a better experience of mixing WO 5.2.4 Apps on WO  
5.3.1 Server or vice versa ?

It is a pity that Apple does not tell at all about WebObjects version  
compatibility... They have a document telling what is needed for  
every WebObjects version, but it has not been updated for a while and  
only tells the minimal needs, not the maximal !

It should be great that with each server version they tell what  
application versions it support !
