CoreData does not have "adaptors" to manage relational databases; 
therefore, it is not sufficient to build a Client/Server application... 
I also have old NextStep apps running with EOF as backbone... I first 
port some of theme to use the so called Java Bridge within Cocoa (see 
http://homepage.mac.com/strausz/baco/Business_Applied_C_Objects.html ), 
but in Leopard such a tool had disappear... I am not sure what I will 
do now (take a look at http://strausz.blogspot.com if you are 
interested in this nightmare).

EOF is a live part of WO which is only supported in its Java version, 
and actively used and enhanced by a nice group... see e.g.,

Objective-C EOF was simply the best tool to use... unfortunately it is 
gone...
Now, I am trying to install GDL2 (an open version of it) but so far it 
had been very frustrating...
Another open version of it is AJRDatabase which can be found at 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ajrdatabase/

I really do not understand why Apple quits on the development of such a 
nice tool... it was enough to open the code of the Java Bridge and let 
us fix its bugs to port it to Leopard...
