Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Transaction Systems group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a
team of consultants and engineers to develop and maintain applications for
Trading Systems.

The individual will report to the Development Manager of Trading Systems
within Transaction Systems.   The Individual will:

·	Design and build solid, robust Swing and J2EE applications in BEA WebLogic
·	Participate in the planning and estimation process
·	Partner with Business Analysts to review and qualify business requirements
·	Oversee the design, development and testing of consultants and ensure the
quality, completeness and adherence to standards
·	Coordinate activities across distributed groups within the Information
Technology organization

This is a breakdown of the position in terms of time spent on which
activities:

Technical Development (55%)
- Analysis & Design
- Client Architecture
- UI Design Artifacts
- UI Development (never more than 25% of the 55%)

Communication (15%) - Verbal, written, process, timelines

Staff Management (15%) - Consultant direction

Project Management (15%) - Interaction with the team approach and Project
Management Office (PMO).

Keys to the Position:

1.   Must have very strong skills as a front end Java Swing (UI) developer.
The technology environment includes Java Swing, J2EE, Weblogic, Oracle and
MQ. The focus on this role is Java Swing.

2.   Must have at least 5 years of UI experience with at least 3 years of
Java Swing. Position also requires strong screen design skills and
architecture skills. Must have strong Swing skills as a Developer and
Architect.

3.   Team Leadership skills are required. Will lead/mentor some consultants.

3.   This individual will be on a team that is developing the next
generation Trading Systems that covers all asset types. We have just
released the Fixed Income and Currency components. Over the next 18 months,
we will be working on Equity, Mortgage, Money Markets and Repo.

Required Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical, organizational and
communication skills. The ideal individual will possess strong experience in
software architecture and development.

Specific requirements include:

·	Minimum of ten years of software development experience
·	Minimum of seven years of Java and J2EE programming experience
·	Minimum of three years of Swing programming experience
·	Proven ability to architect solutions relevant to the Business domain
problem
·	Fluent in Object-Oriented design and development methodologies
·	Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·	Self motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
·	Willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment
·	Ability to manage and negotiate conflicting priorities effectively
·	Computer Science degree or related discipline
