Hi Michael,

No issues here with macports either ....... I will say that sometimes after upgrading to a new release of OS X, I sometimes have to uninstall macports and reinstall to get it working properly again (http://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html). It may be a drastic step, but it is a fresh macports start afterwards.

Also, I usually do a sudo port -d selfupdate before installing something new.
