Hi, This is with reference to the RFC-2229 on Dictionary Server Protocol (Oct, 1997). I have some updations to the protocol and I would like to put them up for discussion. What is all that I need to do so? In a nutshell, the updates include the following: - Defining locales (support for non en_US dictionaries) - Defining output formats (support for XML format besides current plain text) - Extensions to the current method of defining and matching words (with support for references to other words in same or other dictionaries) - Support to list full dictionary-words - Updates to the current URL form. - Updates to how the interaction happens (esp the initial server response, getting capabilities, server info, supported charsets, available locales etc) If there is enough momentum for discussion, I would elaborate on each part. Rik, Do I start? :-) -- Cheers, Gaurav Vaish http://www.mastergaurav.org http://mastergaurav.blogspot.com -------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] _____________________________________________________________________ Website META Language (WML) http://thewml.org User Support Mailing List [email protected] Automated List Manager [email protected]
