From: [Formulator-general] automatic translation of ListFields etc.?

Hi,

  there has been a recent question about the i18n support of formulator,
especially for list items:

  The questioner Sascha Ottlowski actually provided a patch to improve things
on his side. I have no idea what to do with the patch.

  It seems the patch puts back some functionality Formulator already had in 1.7
and which has been dropped in 1.8 for reasons which I only can speculate about.
I guessd it has been dropped because the code went to complex giving a too
bad clutter/feeature ratio.

  The patch looks much simpler than the code in 1.7 so it maybe does reach
a simpler goal by simpler means.

  Is there any interest in getting some more i18n support back into Formulator
if it can be done simpler, or has there been a decision to stay away
from these issues, relying on other code to handle it ?

  More concrete: should I go and investigate the patch, or just drop it,
because the stories about i18n:formulator have all been told long ago?
