Archgenxml is only very lightly tested. Basically only the PyParser.py 
is tested with unittests (and a few other utility methods). There's one 
big whopping 2000 line method in ArchetypesGenerator.py or so that does 
most of the work: that's not tested. So if you haven't looked at the 
code yet, be prepared for a nasty surprise.

In the end, it all works and it's not too bad. It is a mess, though.

If you don't have archetypes repository access yet, could you do it as a

Just look at the code. This is actually a bit of a mess. There's a xmi 
1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 reader, but basically only the 1.2 gets used. And that 
includes lots of if/else statements to support all the various UML 
products (including xmi 2.0 support for poseidon4.0). Best talk with 
Phil about how to structure that ('zwork' on irc).
