Slots at the bottom???

Hi all!

I read in plone.org that the Lufthansa's web (www.lufthansa.com) is done 
with Plone but I don't understand how they've inserted 4 slots at the 
bottom.
I'm very interested in understanding that because I want to implement 
this in my web.
I'd like to know if they've done it changing the main template adding 
new slots, or ... ?
