wow, thats a great idea thanks! we didn't consider to use css3 yet
because it's not finished yet, and it's not widley supported. but if we
can split that up, why not!

yes, that would be perfect for the browser that support these selectors.

ie needs another span for that, otherwise the icons flicker on hover.
but anyway: thats one of *my* (not plones yet) plans for 2.1 to dis or
enable some things with javascript.
so +1 for all that from me!
