How should this relate to plone.rfc822
(https://pypi.python.org/pypi/plone.rfc822), which AFAIK is the current
standard serialization/deserialization model?

I've used the existing rfc822-API+adapters a little to turn
Dexterity-objects into JSON and back (for new objects or sync older
ones), but of course, some defaults there (datetime, blobs) may not be
optimal for client-side js.
