The canonical API for creating content has been in Plone for more than a decade invokeFactory() or nowadays through plone.api.content.create()...now we have a dedicated factory for events? EventAccessor.create(...)...seriously, this can not be...will we see content-type specific factories with more new content-types coming up? Can we consider this the only exception for now and the future?
