I looked into gridster some time ago as well. The first results were
really impressive. Though, there were some important features missing
(resizable grid elements, responsive grid, etc.) and it was somehow hard
to extend. I think gridster works well for dashboard like use cases. In
order to use it for site layouts I think we have to considerably extend
it's UI and functionality.

@Victor: FYI: your screencast does not work on Linux. Is this a Mac only
thing?
