I love the new docs!!! Mostly, I love that someone is caring about them 
in a new way [1]. Thank you svx, Giacomo, et al


As for the complaints from Sean & Dylan, I encountered the same issue 
and was initially frustrated when googling Plone issues and getting 
results from Google that no longer existed.


However, the "top level" redirect is fine with me. And I agree that 
during a reshuffling it's acceptable to lose a 1:1 relationship between 
old docs and new docs (the so-called "that's the point" argument.)


So, I suggest we let things settle and see how they look in a week or 
two. It must have taken a tremendous amount of work for the docs team to 
get to this point and I'm personally very appreciative, and looking 
forward to parsing the new docs "as-is".


One possibility does occur to me, though: it may have been nice to leave 
the old docs in place for some period of time along with the new docs to 
satisfy the "don't break shit" rule. If you know me, you know I've said 
this in Python circles many times (in so many words): the best way to 
deploy a new service to the community is to **not break the old 
service** that everyone is used to :-). If you "break shit" no matter 
how good your "new shit" is, you are inherently inviting criticism which 
will immediately overshadow all of your hard work leaving everyone 
feeling unsatisfied. No one, especially me, likes to see this happen. 
And I've seen it happen **a lot**.


Anyway, you can circumvent criticism with the "it's too much work to do 
both" argument and that is somewhat valid. If someone wants to see the 
old docs, they could have volunteered to help with the transition. Or 
they could restore them to a new/old location right now for reference's 
sake. But again, this just leaves everyone feeling ill-used. The best 
case scenario is always to point people to your "new shit" without 
breaking the "old shit" :-)
