Hi, probably this thought is unpopular, but i think there are good reasons to roll out a Plone 4.4 prior to 5. There has been lots of progress with packages apart mockup / p.a.widgets / toolbar / barceloneta (which represent the most obvious changes to the end user when it comes to Plone 5). There are the efforts to make p.a.contenttypes and p.a.event working with 4.3 - with and without p.a.widgets and there are major changes in p.a.portlets and p.a.users. The sense behind a 4.4 release would be to soften the migration curve to plone 5 and make it a 2-step thing. The step to 4.4 would be used to upgrade data centric code to the modern stack, the step to 5 to update UI centric and JS code. Imo a 4.4 Release should contain: - plone.app.contenttypes = 1.1.x - plone.app.event = 1.1.x - plone.app.portlets = 2.5.x - plone.app.users 2.0.x - ...more data centric packages here...
