Hi,

plone.app.multilingual (pam) master is currently in a good state. We're
using it in production already. But I do not recommend it ;)

After merging Askos branch with its better and non-immersive
implemenation for language independent folders at the alpine city sprint
the last big change is merged.

There are some minor problems left, esp. if it comes to language
independent fields and with plone.app.event together with it's 1.x
branches, but this can be considered as bugs (no api changes here) and
can be solved in beta phase.

Also pam gets slow if it comes to many (say >10) languages if language
independent fields are used. Here some optimization needs to be done.
This may change the internal api of pam, but overall its only a minor
change and can be solved in beta phase.

The current master works with latest Plone (4.3.4). I do not now the
state of archetypes.multilingual, the integration of Archetypes (AT)
with pam. May be someone else can write some words about it.

So one of the next steps is to declare pam 2.0 as beta and release it.

After this is done we will fork pam master away as a 2.x branch. The new
master becomes 3.x and gets changes which are only compatible with Plone
5, such as the new controlpanel.

Both will get the same love for while, means there will be a rule that
all changes in 3.x will be backported to 2.x as long as they are
compatible with Plone 4.3.4.

Help is - as always - appreciated.

best regards

Jens
