en folder in locales

I found "en" folder in PloneTranslations/locales directory.
http://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/PloneTranslations/trunk/locales/en/

I assume English message is used the text located in the code, which is a source of ".pot" files.
So, what the content of this en folder?  Is this for UK English?
