Plone as Intranet solution with large file storage

Hello,

I have to create a searchable file storage for a small enterprise. They want to 
store some 100 000 Dokuments of different type (doc, pdf, other) and be able to 
search for certain keywords. Different user groups with different access rights 
exist. The files shall also be visible in the file system.

Can this be done using Plone as an intranet server? Did someone do something 
similar? Are there better solutions?

As for the keyword search, I think that should work out of the box. The file 
system view could be realized by WebDAV.
