Yes, I always test the upgrade first by duplicating the whole container in 
order to be sure I won't be caught by some unforeseen minor differences 
between test and production environments.

Yet simply removing an add-on if it does not upgrade cleanly is something 
I'd prefer to avoid ;-/.

I'll do since we're running 4.3 here ! But this may not happen before 2 to 3 
weeks so be patient ;-).
