I started to implement my ideas of a nested list based Silva navigation.
It is focussed on giving a page template designer a set of building
objects, which can be imported in layout_macro.html. With a few steps a
complex document tree can be collected, filtered (soon...), and then
dumped to HTML. The resulting HTML is clean and functional, and comes
with example CSS to format it as nice dropdown menus, collapsing trees
and others.

While still Alpha, I already have some working examples here:

It is planned to put the code in a revision repository, until then
snapshots of my current work can be downloaded here.
