Translations of metadata

Hello

I'm still struggling with the translation of the labels in my metadata sets.
In the developer doc http://www.infrae.com/products/silva/contributing/i18n-ing_silva_extensions I don't see any hints how to i18n metadata sets. However, I see the two Silva metadata sets displayed with German labels on the properties tab. Obviously, there must be a way to get the translations displayed on this tab, but it seems not to be straightforward, at least not for me :-(
