A little slower :) This reminded me, is it possible to tweak the logging
code slightly to 'checkpoint' every so often ... either every few
minutes or every 10,000 objects packed, or something. Basically, when
you're packing 5,000,000+ objects (we are), it takes a very long time
between packing stages, which, other than the fact that CPU time is
being consumed, makes it very difficult to judge if things are
progressing when dealing with it remotely.
