Very good analysis. I think the problem we are having with Zope 3
marketing is not the ACS one. It's not that we are depending on the
release. We are not selling it already to customers. It's just that
people were a bit confused whether they should still invest into Zope 2
now that a new version is imminent.

Zope Corp. has clearly stated that "imminent" is not "right now", so
part of the problem is gone. The other one is that while we don't HAVE
to get a Zope 3 release out soon we still WANT to because it fixes Zope
2's design flaws and will, eventually, be the better Zope.

So, how do we speed up the Zope 3 development? By making sure that new
development for Zope 2 will be forward compatible to a large extent.
