generic command tool

Hi,

with every new version of fluxbox I'm hacking a battery status
display for the toolbar into it. I wonder if it would be a cool
feature to have a, lets say, generic command tool. It
essentially would take an interval and a command in an input window 
(as e.g. when formatting the clock display) and executes it with 
/bin/sh.

Any comments?
