fbsetbg question

I have this line in my fluxbox init file: session.screen0.rootCommand: fbsetbg -r /home/jerry/.fluxbox/backgrounds and it does a good job of setting a different background every time I log in. The only trouble is, the background images aren't maximized vertically. I've tried adding the "f" option, but when I do that, fbsetbg gives me a message saying that the "-rf" option is unrecognized. Does anybody know how to use the "f" option along with the "r" option? I've tried every combination of f and r I can think of and none works. I've also checked the fbsetbg man page, no help there.
