Fluxbox starting 2 copies of xtdesk, irexec and mythfrontend

I am running a MythTV frontend on an Xbox with Xebian 1.1.4 and fluxbox
0.9.11-1sarge0.

I followed the xbox/mythfrontend install instructions from the MythTV on
Xebian HOWTO http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/MythTV_on_Xebian_HOWTO and added

both "irexec &" and "mythfrontend &" after the line that starts "xtdesk" in
fluxstartup.sh .

I have noted that there are 2 duplicate tasks started for xtdesk, irexec and
mythfrontend.
I am experiencing problems with mythfrontend that is resolved by killing one
of the mythfrontend tasks.
killing xtdesk and irexec tasks doesnot seem to have any usability
impacts.

Any known problems in fluxbox that would cause this?   Any suggestions on
level to resolve this?
