Interestingly enough, after playing around with this, I see mixed behavior.  About half of the time, Firefox goes back to its original location after toggling F11.  The other half of the time the application sticks up in the top-left corner of the screen.

gnome-terminal also has this same F11 feature.  However, I can never get it to stick up in the corner.  The application always goes back to where it was.

Without investigating further, I would say this looks like it could possibly be a Firefox issue.
