I am not sure how screenshots are taken with X11, but if it works with Unity, it may be thanks to the fact that Unity includes a compositing manager. I guess some video outputs bypass X11 and send pictures directly to the hardware, while compositing managers still see the stream somewhere. Maybe, if you run a window compositing manager with Fluxbox, it would work with Fluxbox too. A few standalone compositing managers that can work along with Fluxbox: * xcompmgr: the old and buggy one, but for which it is easy to find a package in all major distributions; * fbcompose: still in development (is it?), supposed to be used with Fluxbox; * unagi: another option, but I have had some problems when using Fluxbox with it in the past. I am not sure, somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is worth a try. -- (o< -! //\ Happy debian user !
