Hi, I use plain fluxbox with no DE. I also use pidgin. I've noticed myself that pidgin goes to idle state, and never gets out of it. My current configuration for status: ------------- Report Idle Time: Based on keyboard or mouse use Minutes before becoming idle: 5 [Enabled] Change to this status when idle: Away Away Auto-Reply: Never [Disabled] Use status from last exit at startup Status to apply at startup: Available ------------- I've played with the auto-reply unsuccessfully, and also with the status from last exit, also unsuccessfully. Weird thing though is that even though it starts @ available (given the configuration), almost immediately it moves to idle/away. If I force to "available", and then allow the configured amount of time with no keyboard/mouse activity, then pidgin moves to idle/away as expected. But if I touch any key or move the mouse, it never goes back to available. Not only I notice it, but also my contacts of course. I use Arch, but I have partners using Arch but with DEs, and they don't face this problems. So I'm wondering if this would be related to something missing that fluxbox as a WM doesn't provide. DBus is already running prior to starting fluxbox. So no problem with DBus...
