Restarting ICEWM with the command... killall -HUP /usr/bin/icewm ...fixes that, as ICEWM re-initializes, but all apps, etc, remain open. At least you have a quick-n-dirty solution. I have that command in my ICEWM menu, so that I can add new entries and restart ICEWM, without having to exit X, and get back in.
