Re: vlc & chromium contents persisting across virtual desktops

I will just revisit this thread in case anybody finds their way to it in
future.

Since last I wrote there has been an update to the nvidia binary (which I
take to be the likely cause of the problem), but it has not fixed the issues.
In addition I found that youtube videos were appearing in every workspace,
which was a bigger problem for me than the issues I mentioned before, and for
which I could not find a workaround. 

So far as Arch users are concerned, there are now reports of these same issues
affecting xmonad & awesome.  I don't know if the model of graphics card is
significant, but for the sake of completeness mine is a GeForce 210.

I have therefore reluctantly changed to fluxbox, for the time being at least.
It is not affected by any of the issues.
