I don't see that happening, the image starts at the top, ready for
me to scroll down.

I have a "new" and an old version, I tried and got similar results
with both:

feh version 2.9.3
Compile-time switches: curl exif xinerama 

feh version 1.3.4

(The 2.9.3 came from a Ubuntu package; the 1.3.4 was compiled from
source, probably on Suse.)
