icewm on Centos 6.9?

Has anyone gotten icewm working on Centos 6.9 recently? The default
repositories have very few window managers and fewer still that work.
(I found four: twm, mwm, metacity, and kwin; I only got kwin working). 

I've compiled icewm 1.3.8 from source on Centos without difficulty. But
it segfaults on run, apparently during the read of the theme window
decoration xpm files.

I tried to compile the "unofficial" 1.4.x from github, but it doesn't
come with a "configuration" script and doesn't play nice with the
ancient autoconf on Centos 6.9.

For my purposes with this computer, running Centos 6.9 is more important
than using icewm, so I'll stick with kwin if I must. The kwin theme is
super ugly compared to what I'm used to, and it doesn't have (and I
can't quickly figure out how) the key bindings I prefer to use.
