ratmenu and UTF-8

Hi,

Since a while I'm using an UTF-8 only environment. But ratmenu keeps
displaying multibyte characters as multiple one byte characters
despite having chosen an ISO-10646-1 (i.e. Unicode) charset font with
-font.

According to http://ratpoison.antidesktop.net/wiki/ratmen there's a
i18n/multibyte patch for ratmen at
http://www.rubyist.net/~rubikitch/computer/ratmen/i18n.patch but
unfortunately that URL gives me a "403 Forbidden".

Anyone another idea how to get any of ratmen/ratmenu/9menu to work
with UTF-8 menu data?
