No - yahoo allows for 3 posting methods:
1) Only group members (Private discussion group)
2) Anyone (Open discussion group)
3) Only group owner (Newsletter)
There are also 2 methods for new users on the list:
1) Anyone can join immediately
2) People can join only with the owners permission.
Proper configuration would be for only members being
able to post and the owner needing to authorize all new
members.
Without these settings, or without going to a fully moderated
list, spam will continue to flow.
