Position: Architect - Mobile Terminal Software Applications.

Role:

 The candidate will need to play the key role of architect of Mobile 
Terminal Software and Applications.  In this role, he/she will have to 
develop system level specifications, work with marketing on developing 
requirements, review designs and implementations, work with other software 
component groups to seek and provide inputs. He/she will support management 
decision making by providing the required technical support. He/she will 
also review change requests and enhancements and shall function as the final 
technical approver. This person shall also be responsible to quickly bring 
to closure technical issues that come up in the software development life 
cycle. This is very much a hands-on position.

Education:

 BE/BTech /or Masters in Engineering in Computer Science/Electronics 
academic records from good institutes, preferably RECs / IITs / IISc 
(minimum 70%-critical, the name of the college/Institute, year of passing 
and Branch/specialization in BE/ME should be mentioned in the resume.)

Experience:

 8 - 12 years of relevant hands-on experience in software development using 
C/C++., development of embedded software, cross-platform software 
development. At least 3 years of experience in development of software for 
Mobile Terminals/ PDAs on different platforms such as 
Symbian/Series60/WinCE/PocketPC/Smartphone/Nucleus/any proprietary 
platforms.  The person should have played the role of providing Technical 
leadership as an Architect for at least 3 years.

Skills/Expertise required :

Good understanding of  mobile telephony (GSM/GPRS/UMTS/EDGE) and 
applications.
Very good understanding of Software Engineering principles.
Programming: Very good in C/C++ programming for RTOS based embedded 
platforms, firmware development.

Debugging tools:JTAG, ICE, simulation tools.
Candidate must have participated in all the phases of SW development cycle 
for a few projects.
Previous experience in specifying organization-level software standards.
Should have worked with globally diverse teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Very good knowledge of RTOS, should have participated in some 
implementation/enhancement of RTOS.
The candidate must be confident, self-sufficient, learn quickly, and have 
strong problem solving skills.
Worked on software build tools, customizations.
Configuration management tools - Clearcase.
Change management tools - Clearquest, bugzilla

Strongly Desired:

* Participation in standards bodies, papers, patents.
* Exposure to additional configuration management tools - subversion, cvs
* Exposure to additional change management/defect tracking tools - ddts etc.
* Scripting: Perl, Tcl/Tk
* UNIX/Windows system programming.
* Expertise on ARM7/ARM9 based systems
* Testing, regression test automation.
* Software simulation tools.
* Java, .Net
* MS project.
