Is anyone really surprised? In an environment where it's easier to litigate
instead of innovate (even though it can't be as cheap can it?), this
behaviour will be more prevalent.
One thing this group may want to consider is a petition to the powers that
be in this investigation, send a powerful message to congress\justices,
state reps, etc.

This is actually well-known among many except the general public. This
whole "case" has been funded by Oracle and Sun and is purely based on
jealousy. What kind of country do we live in that allows this? Is this (and
their conspiring with Netscape and Gary Reeback) not a gross illegal act? A
true Anti-Sherman violation. I say 100% yes. This should outrage every
single software developer. Write your congressional delegation. Not only
should the lawsuit be dropped but these companies should be prosecuted.
Also, lets see if we *ever* see this story on SlashDot which is
super-quick to report every slight perceived Microsoft negative and didn't
even have a single story on the VS.NET launch, which was sent in by over a
dozen people I know.
