William,

Thanks for the response - yes, indeed, I am interested in more than just
a quick answer (I can cheat for now in the app I have by just searching
through all the strings manually - there aren't a lot). However, the
link doesn't seem to be working.

Peter

Peter,

Yes, it is very hard to weed out useful info about Regualr Expressions
from the web. I gave up and went out and bought a book. If you are
interested in more than just a quick answer, here is a link to the book
I use, which has had an answer for everything I have needed to do so
far:

Hopefully, this list is appropriate.

Any recommendations on good Regular Expressions sites to visit to get a
better feel for using regular expressions? Searches produce a
ridiculous number of results.

I have been trying to come up with a concise way to name a copy of an
item in what imagine Windows does when you copy a file in windows
explorer and then paste it in the same directory (first copy is 'copy of
myFile.txt', second copy is 'copy (2) of myFile.txt', etc.) and I could
probably do better.
