I don't know if this applies to you are not, but I vaguely remember running
into a similar issue a year or two ago. Make sure that your site is NOT
running in the default app pool as I remember that there are some issues
with memory hog programs going down when run in the default app pool.

I wish I could give you more detail but I can't find any of the
documentation on the issue that I had saved.
