It's not free, but in your shoes Greg I'd be trying Joel Spolsky's
http://jobs.joelonsoftware.com/.  Finding the right person is worth
spending some money on, IMHO, and Joel's got a pretty high-tone audience

(In case it doesn't go w/out saying, I have no relationship or interest
in that site.  I've also never used it, and could be completely wrong.)

I tried Craig's List once but I had a bad experience.  I posted a job
available on my team and all the trolls came out of the woods.  100% of
all people who responded to the post were under qualified and tried to
over sell themselves during the interview.  Greg, if you decide to try
Craig's List I hope you have a better experience then what I had.  Just
be prepared for an avalanche of e-mails and spending a lot of free time
looking through resumes.
