Ah yes, I did find that one late last night and gave it a quick looking over but there may be more in there I didn't see. The main doco I was looking at was:

  /netWindows/docs/FAQ.html

in the package I downloaded.

>Most widgets have default values for required attributes.

Yes well it seems that if default (required?) attributes are removed it does break.

>There's really not much that is outright 'required' for you to specify in order to get things to do _somthing_ :)

True, I'm not saying that, I'm just wondering where I start customising and how far I can go. You know, pushing the boundaries :)

>I'm not sure which version of netWindows you're using as you didn't mention it in your email. The docs represent what is residing in CVS head.

v0.3 downloaded from http://netwindows.org/releases/netWindows_0.3.0.zip

>If you are using the the tabbed-pane widget from CVS head, I have really been meaning to revisit it but have been completely unable to find the time. I'm just about to get past the our anual user group meeting in which case I should have more time for nw hacking.

Good luck finding the time, I know what nightmare that can be!

>The new one is driven heavily by CSS and <div> blocks.

In true Homer Simpson style: Hmmm.... CSS, divs... oh hot hot ha!

OK well the gurgling salivation sounds Homer makes don't translate too well to text but I hope you get what I mean :)

>I have a couple of outstanding bugzilla entries awaiting me on sf.net that might be affecting you if you're using the built in themeing and the tabbed pane from cvs head.

Well I was using everything as default but from v0.3 i.e. I hadn;t touched any css files wrt themeing.

>If you're using the one from the 0.3 release though I'll have to let Alex help you as I never really understood the internals of the old tabbed pane widget.

Yes. This file:

  /netWindows/docs/widget_test_pages/tabbed_pane_test.html

>If so, what exactly did you do to cause things to break?

Ok well now that I come to think of it, I did remove the themeing from the HTML... i.e.:

<img onclick="__theme__.setThemeByName('blue');" src="../../images/blues_block.gif" width="20" height="20" hspace=0 vspace=0 border="0" align="bottom" tooltip="blue theme">
<img onclick="__theme__.setThemeByName('green');" src="../../images/greens_block.gif" width="20" height="20" hspace=0 vspace=0 border="0" align="bottom" tooltip="green theme">
<img onclick="__theme__.setThemeByName('system');" src="../../images/tans_block.gif" width="20" height="20" hspace=0 vspace=0 border="0" align="bottom" tooltip="default theme">

I also removed the debugging window from the head section... i.e/:

                function envInit(){
                        create_console('<<debugging console initialized>>', 0, 0, 'right', 'top', 400, 300, 100);
                }

and last but no least I adjusted/removed the width and height attributes for one of the tags being this one:

<div nwtype="tabbed_pane" width="600" height="400">

Initially I tried percentages, then removed them altogether, then blank values - all of which meant the tabs went all over the place.

Hope that comes through your mail client without too much wrapping or butchering.

Thanks!
pd
